English
Our main focus will be to complete a research project independently (Don't forget the various skills learned in class during our group project). Students should also read in English and can complete journal entries.
Here is a great story (co-written by a teacher at RMS) that shines a light on how students all over the world are missing their school, their friends as well as their routine! You can download it for free here: https://www.hopewhereareyou.com/ **Don't forget, you can find yoga videos in the For fun! tab on this website!☺
Maplehurst Middle School asked for you to answer a few questions! Please complete this and send it as soon as possible!

Research Project1) Choose a topic. In class, your options were: a bizarre animal, an unusual place or a weird sport! You can also pick another topic. Try to find something that you are passionate about!
2) Start researching your topic. Jot down notes (key words) in a journal, in a Word document, on the notes app or other! Don't forget to write down the websites you have used. You will need to include those at the end of your research project. You can also start to decide how you will want to organize your project (subtopics). *Make sure you have many facts in order for your project to be detailed! 3) Plan your writing by organising the information you found on the Internet. How will you group them (sub topics)? You can use colors on your jot notes or you can create a plan. 4) Write your draft. Don't forget to include many details and interesting facts! 5) Once you are done writing your draft, you can start to Review and Edit. These are important steps! Take your time, ask for feedback from someone (you can even send me and email ☺) and use different tools available to you! Look below for steps to Review and Edit your text (arms and cups). 6) Start your good copy. It can be in the format of a bristol board, a powerpoint, a prezi, etc.) *Also, start thinking about your final product. How do you want to present your information? Be creative!! Here are some ideas: poster, powerpoint, prezi, video/movie, theatre, other! **If you want me to look over your ideas and give you feedback, feel free to send me a picture! ☺
